Experience

  1. Mar 2026 – Present

    Site Reliability Engineer , TwinStream

  2. Nov 2022 – Mar 2026

    Senior Platform Engineer , LDMS

    • Designed and implemented numerous CI/CD pipelines for application deployments, greatly improving both deployment frequency and the overall lead time for new features going from initial requirements to production.
    • Spearheaded a project to consolidate multiple production, staging and internal environments into a multi-tenanted architecture in order to reduce maintenance overhead and overall costs by 30%.
    • Implemented a centralised ECS container and ELB access logging solution using Opensearch, Fluent Bit and Logstash.
    • Developed a monitoring/alerting system including documented processes and procedures using AWS CloudWatch, AWS SNS, EventBridge, Amazon Q and Opsgenie, enabling colleagues to respond quickly to incidents and identify the root cause.
    • Owned creating, maintaining and rolling out Dockerised Lambdas to automate routine maintenance tasks using Python with libraries such as Boto3, Amqpstorm and Psycopg.
    • Created and maintained re-usable Terraform modules enabling colleagues to rapidly deploy new environments and applications leveraging services such as ECS, EC2, RDS, ELB and others. This led to improved consistency, reduced workload and a considerable reduction in misconfiguration-related incidents.
    • Assisted development teams with application deployments, debugging and performance troubleshooting e.g. identifying expensive Postgres queries, resource bottlenecks, etc.
    • Took responsibility creating well-defined pieces of work for junior engineers to work on and offered guidance/pointers to ensure the tasks were easily understood and beneficial as learning exercises.
    • Worked with other teams to identify areas where platform improvements could be made and worked alongside them to design and implement a solution, e.g. creating anonymised datasets to enable integration tests against data that more accurately represents production.
  3. May 2021 – Oct 2022

    Systems Engineer , Box UK

    • Created and maintained Ansible playbooks for use in CI/CD, both provisioning infrastructure and deploying web applications, including developing unit tests, both improving confidence and reducing the risk of regressions being introduced.
    • Worked collaboratively with team members in an Agile framework, participating effectively in regular ceremonies such as standups, planning sessions, retros and root cause analysis.
    • Implemented an effective APM solution using Datadog, providing developers with in-depth application metrics, enabling quick debugging and reducing our MTTR.
    • Developed new processes and procedures for routine tasks such as infrastructure patching.
    • Managed AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform, using services such as ECS, EC2, RDS, ELB, etc.
